What Pogacar does right know has never been done before, outside the Merckx era. Only now some riders are saving themselves for special occasions, but not Pogacar who wins anyways. All year.
I sat in the press center at Amstel Gold Race years ago when Bjarne Riis won by racing alone the last 30 km. Everybody was laughing theirs cocks off as it was obvious to everyone in the room some kind of foul play were on full display.
These days Pogacar takes off with 80 km left, something that was universally recognized as impossible years ago. A united peleton are unable to beat him.
Yet here we are and it seems totally forgotten how this sport has a history of doping. It's getting ridiculous now.
But he's not tested positive!

Lost twice in 2025 classics to van der Poel; beaten in a sprint finish at the Amstel Gold.
Even when winning at the Strade Bianche he recovered from a horrendous crash on a downhill curve, but instead of waiting he got straight back on his bike and won the race in Siena. Ridiculous but amazing.
Complaining about his domination is just daft.
In every sport there are periods of domination by individuals or teams. Why can't you just enjoy it, instead of moaning?
