As a weird completist, need to do Portal first, but finding it very difficult to get into. Maybe because I'm on Steam Deck, not mouse / keyboard? Previous Message

Following on from the xbox game passs thread the other week. I think there was a couple of posts where it was mentioned that some people were looking for slower paced games.
If so, Balatro and Monster Train. They're two very different card/deck builder games.
Balatro is essentially poke with a twist, where you have to beat certain scores to progress. But you can buy things (game currency, not real cash) that will help you along the way. This game was actually named as game of the year last year by several critics.
Started playing Monster Train a few weeks ago, it's very addictive. Can take a few runs to get the hang of it, but once you do it becomes one of those just one more run games. You essentially start each game with a choice of two clans (1 is your champion the other is your support) and you have to battle different enemies across several stages. You use cards to attack, heal, buff or nerf etc. Can get very tactical. One wrong move and what looked like everything was going perfectly can turn to pure shit very quickly.
