Is it like England cricketers investing in British fill companies because it’s tax advantageous?
Is it American owners seeking an alliance to raise our American profile?
If he’s wanted for his expertise then he’d be hired, not invited to invest. (And he is an NBA head coach, so lacks the time to contribute too much anyway).
Can’t decide if this is:
1. Cheap publicity
2. a half arsed version of Southampton appointing Clive Woodward
3. A very clever way to bring in transferable sporting expertise with an equity stake in a high ceiling venture. Previous Message
...will apparently recognise thee current coach of the Dallas Mavericks, former NBA player Jason Kidd. No mention of him joining the Everton board but it appears from the accompanying comments that he will be advising on the sporting side of things.
“As one of the NBA’s greatest players and now a successful coach, his knowledge and winning mentality will be an incredible resource for Everton. He is a respected leader and household name for many sports fans and will bring a deeper understanding of high performance as we collectively strive to build a brighter future for this storied club.”
