Genuinely hard as nails and fearsome if you got on the wrong side of him either on or off the pitch. Yet extremely personable and even slightly shy when relaxed in the right company.
Very talented player who never quite fulfilled his potential.

I loved it when he was talking about one of of the burglars getting away and Gary said it was him. I'd have caught you said Dunc.
