However China accounts for about 17% of US imports. And the increased cost of the stuff they import will most impact lower income consumers. They may have to rename the dollar store to the 10 dollar store.
I suppose one benefit of china not importing beef and pork from the US, is sausages and burgers could get cheaper due to the surplus. Or their portions could get even bigger.

I'm not sure I believe this - but apparently its what the figures say, for what that's worth these days.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
