With 3000 away fans there will only be 10000 tickets on sale to joe public
Presumably even those will be sold on a loyalty basis so how will the day trippers get tickets because that is the market we need to conquer Previous Message
and you are a legacy fan for want of a better description. Like many blues, we all have our matchday routine and probably don't really want to change. Goodison is an old school ground, where you were out and into a local boozer fairly quickly. It was not designed to hold on to thousands of fans after the game, BMD is the opposite and wants fans the to stay.
In the new world order, the day trippers arrive and are heading to the ground early to get photos and soak up the occasion as they spend on food, drink and merchandise. This is the holy grail for a football club.... its not a cinema where you move on before the next screening starts. The club wants you spending money and using its catering services, hence the stadium is designed to offer you more than just a seat to watch the game.
The access / egress issues will be sorted, but the main goal of the club is to make money from fans and this is why the pressure will be on the mamager to produce a winning team.... any continuation of our recent past is simply not going to garner enough desire to hang around and spend money when your team is losing.
