In my experience, Everton were a non entity to football fans in that region. They knew of us but generally couldn't care less about us (even the foreign Reds didn't really care about us)

What the big beef is between us and Newcastle?
I seem to remember it starting in the 90s. They got delusions of grandeur after a couple of half decent seasons and we saw them as happy flappy, replica clad new SKY fans whereas we were the exact opposite.
I actually like geordies as people but stick them near a football stadium and they change into blerts.
