I’m wondering if they’ll build a smaller stadium at Nelson Dock alongside hotels and bars etc for ice hockey / basketball etc. Previous Message
Friedkin's model is about buying "integrated brands".. stuff that can support one another..entertainment..resorts..sports..films..etc. They have moved upstairs from car dealerships.
Everton provided a once in a lifetime brand, in an iconic location with upside to "integrate" either entertainment and/or resort type business in one of the UNTAPPED Global locations - yes the City of Liverpool Waterfront.
I am really intrigued about their plans - it's inevitable that to compete, we are going to have to be more than a football club with single source revenue. Getting the balance right between local fans and fans from all four corners of the world is a phase Premier league clubs are going through. Some with more success than others. Setting up more sports clubs under the Everton name will happen but what is certain is that the stadium and whatever goes in Nelson dock (and beyond ) will bring life to what has been a derelict part of the City. That in itself, is why we should support Friedkin in their plans.
Exciting times ahead.
Ian
