The report refers to O'Brien as Thelwell's parting gift.

However, I would argue that the ins and outs over the last twelve months are the real gift. We've seen Onana and Dobbin go out with O'Brien, Tim, Ndiaye and Alcaraz in with no net investment. The four ins all look to be capable of adding to the squad for years to come.

This assumes that Alcaraz is really a permanent transfer disguised as a loan to push the cost in the next financial year.

Going back a bit further, maybe Chermitti will also be of value in the future.
