I think they've sold a few thousand to those at the top of the waiting list and I don't think they've announced the next batch or not?

You'd need to join the queue. The only way to jump the queue is find someone that's giving up their season ticket and they transfer it to you before the previous season ends. (An easy process, nothing more than an email to the ticket office)
