I think one of the reasons we have kept hold of JP is he has kept his England place, granted he is clearly happy here and that is hopefully the biggest factor, but if he wasnt getting picked and felt his chances would improve elsewhere he may well have left.

Im with pablo, I dont give a shit about players playing for England for the sake of seeing them in an England shirt, but I like it when they play because I think it improves our chances of holding onto them. I dont think we will hold onto JB, but I was convinced he would go last season, so what do I know.

Nah, he will be in a position to set his sights higher - I would not be at all surprised if he's seen as part of the rebuilding job at City, and with Don Carlo reportedly interested in taking him to Madrid, I think we'll struggle to keep him for next season. I think hopes that him not playing for England will keep him off the radar will be in vain unfortunately.

...I don't give a shite about international footy (particularly Ing-ur-land) just the same as a lot of Blues I know. I get the recognition aspect, and the personal pride for them, but I just want our players playing for us, with as little risk of injury or being tapped up as possible.
