Despite it being richer than the rest of the western world. Trump and MAGA, when they try to explain that all, seem to be blaming Government interference and wokeness. Despite the evidence that countries with more liberal governments and higher government spending are performing better on those measures. That suggests to me inequality is the answer, its more stark in the US and this is what you get and where we are all headed if inequality increases everywhere, which it is. Trumps answer of tax cut for the wealthy is the opposite of the answer. ![]() We see constant references to poor school outcomes in minority communities so more money gets spent whereas the problem is the homes these poor kids come from including no male role models; being raised by gmas and peer pressure not to achieve - black kids accused of "trying to be white" if they try to excel in school The homeless problem is more of a substance abuse problem and I agree about obesity. Lets see what RFK does about that in regard to food labelling but again it is an education issue at base plus marketing by the food empires towards the nutritionally ill-informed ![]() but ask yourself why. You could assume because loads of money is wasted and that will be true to extent. But a big factor will be, its less the quality of the education and more the quality of the parents. You can spend all you want it at school, but if the kids parents are smack heads or not there at all, and no other support mechanism is in place, you got very lucky if that kid does well at school. So I would say if America has such poor school results, its a symptom of a broken society, as is having one of the worst homelessness issues in the western world, and the biggest prison population, worst obesity levels, etc etc. You have to ask, why does the richest country in the world score so badly on so many metrics. ![]() There is very little correlation between spending per pupil and learning proficiency. ![]() ![]() are at the top of the table.....almost like its something else causing the problems in the States? Extreme inequality maybe? ![]() If the DoE was a business it would be bankrupt Control of Education belongs with the states not some top-down woke bullshit bureaucracy more concerned with DEI than what kids are learning. ![]() |
