There was a big cheer from the crowd before the guy next to Frank leaned over and dolefully said "Poor fucker... he's had to watch this shite and now he's got to go home and cook his own tea...."

...and I even remember that the attendance was 26,731 because my dad said that I was the "1".
We were in the old Park End Upper, pretty much central to the goal, which I only realised a few weeks ago is quite poignant as that's roughly where I will be sitting for the Southampton game alongside my son
(PS - his first game was December 28th 2008 and we beat Sunderland 3-0 at Goodison - my dad can't remember his first game, but says that he started going regularly in the 1963-64 season, and our first league game that season was 3-0 vs Fulham at Goodison so we'll take that to keep up the pattern! ) Previous Message
cant recall my first game, it was the 89-90 season. probably got the ticket stub somewhere
