They’re also going to wear out and need replacing at some point, what will happen then? Club foot the bill or in 20 years time will we just have a smooth pathway where those tributes used to be? What’s the longer term plan for it all?
Personally, I’d have been ok with a 20 year gap, pay now, there for 20years, renew it at that point if you want and the stone gets replaced with a shiny new one and the tribute stays alive and the amazing installation stays looking amazing and those that might not want to renew leave a small opportunity for others who have lost someone since to benefit in the same way.
It wasn’t a complaint, it was just an opinion that a one off installation at a stadium that’s going to be used for the next 100 odd years only offers a small window of opportunity.
The alternative is do more of them in more areas of the stadium and if we expand out onto nearby areas there could be an entire supporters zone/plaza filled with them that would be fantastic. I’d be all for it as I think it looks brilliant and is even more impressive when you see it up close.
Not every comment is a moan or a critique, more just about opening up debate and offering an opinion, but there you go!

You want them to dig up the permanent tribute we got there for my Dad, box the rubble up then re-sell his spot?
Sounds a great plan.
But good to find a new unique thing to complain about! Previous Message

certainly looks like its going to be a superb piece of work when finished. Hopefully it ages well too.
Still think they should have made them 20 years then expire so it can continue to be refreshed in the future, maybe with you keeping whats left of your stone at the end but i'm sure thats something that can be addressed later down the line.
It's another thing that they have done brilliantly with at BMD. Can't wait to see it finished.
