As I've said elsewhere, I would call those "festival/arena prices" which I don't have too much of an issue with if you're in a quality venue and the food is of good quality, tasty and filling - which is what mine was last night. The standard was a lot better than the food provided by Sodexo at Goodison. Previous Message
It's hard to tell from last night as hundreds were streaming out from half time onwards.
However turning up to Sandhills there were 4 distinct, well signed destinations to filter into, with the staff clearly well drilled. Those wanting a train due in got to do straight up to the platform, those whose train was not next in were held back. It worked well. Anyone who's been to Wembley will have seen the exact same system in place.
How things will work out with 50000 plus fans is another matter. But one thing is for sure, given the extortionate prices for low quality fare inside the ground, NO ONE will be hanging about at the final whistle. Despite it being a genuine safety issue, the club have just hawked out the catering to a company with a terrible reputation for serving up garbage at sky high prices - well done. Previous Message
I was discussing the holding area at Sandhills with a mate who's a driver on Merseyrail and mentioned people's concerns ...
He said they have the same in use at Aintree for the National meeting etc and he's adamant that it works great. He also said they've been test running 8 carriage trains and we can expect them to be approx every 7 to 10 mins on match days.
But like everything we'll just have to wait and see.
