I posted here weeks ago re "the zone" before it was announced, it was originally designed to deter local crime gangs - these exist around Anfield and Goodison. In case you aren't aware, they take over church yards, school playing fields, pub car parks, industrial off road parking etc etc with menace (I could go on, but I've a cocktail coming)...
Only Rotherham knows why they decided to do it all year though - I have my thoughts on that for another day! Previous Message
Way down the Dock Road past Bankhall, in streets that have no residents and businesses that are closed evenings and weekends.
I understand the preference for public transport, but the councils best effort seems to be a ‘fan zone’ of temporary barriers at Sandhills. They are assuming Sandhills will only be used by supporters heading north, and anyone else will walk into town.
I was prepared to give the benefit of the doubt to them, in that maybe they want to see how it all works before making it permanent, but they haven’t said anything to that effect in the face of some pretty fierce criticism.
We’re going to give the soccerbus from the Strand a shot tonight and see how that goes.
Enjoy it, everyone that’s lucky enough to be going! Previous Message
mainly to have a look for somewhere to park
In short, there is nowhere to park
Every single road, even roads with no houses on, are in the restricted zone
I'm looking at a 2 mile walk which is fine whilst I'm fit and fairly healthy but that won't always be the case
I just don't understand why all the roads are restricted just because fans will want to park there
I could understand if the council wanted to charge a fiver or tenner on match day but it makes no sense to stop any car from parking
