We have had 30 years to do something and the net result has been pretty much fuck all. CO2 outputs have increased. We have put more of that stuff into the atmosphere since the Kyoto agreement in 1992 than all of history before that. Despite agreeing then to cut CO2 emissions. So congrats, everyone.
I have lived around these parts for most of my life, over 50 years. And here up north weather has been peculiar for several years now. It used to be that you got a really cold period (-30C) for a week or two every winter. Can't remember when that last happened. Instead snow almost melted last week after we had +5 for almost a week. I can't honestly remember when that has happened in January here. Usually we have half a meter of snow by now.
Things around the world will just keep getting worse and yet our politicians push any meaningful changes further and further. Things that were initially promised to be done by 2035 have been pushed back to 2050. This way these politicians don't need to do anything. I don't honestly know how far things have to go before something is actually done, but I'm pretty certain it will be far too late by then. Previous Message
The US now joins Iran, Libya and Yemen as the only countries in the world not signed up to it.
