That sign was more than just trolling IMO - I don't think he's up for concentration camps, but he is definitely up for tighter controls of the narrative at a structural level, rather than just playing within the structure. That's what this election was all about, the control of the next steps.
The sad reality is that in America and most other places, people are very easily manipulated with a minimum of effort. I meet really clever people, successful in work who are nice and have a good family, who think Musk is a literal genius.
Dunning-Kruger will define this and the next 50 years IMO.

I lean to the second but perhaps its a mix of the two.
It really doesnt matter, what matters is the actual policies. Evercelt is right, he isnt going to try and take the Panama canal or Canada, or Greenland, he is going to do everything he can to get the most out of those places for the US/him.
We need to ignore the bluster and the crazy rhetoric and look at the policies, are they right wing enough to be comparable or seem to be a move to something like Nazism? Oh and alternative that isnt the status quo would help the left/centre too.

When will we learn, most people dont care....they either ignore it, in a minority of cases support it and the majority see it for what a probably is, trolling designed to wind up liberals.
It was the same all through the campaign, days of talk about the rally and the Puerto Rico joke, all te liberal pundits loved it....gotcha....Puerto Ricans didnt care. Maybe if we they focused on how tariffs would raise prices for those Puerto Ricans it might have cut through.
I read the other week someone saying te left and centre needs its own answers instead of obsessing over the right. If the right leaves a shit on the pavement, instead of clearing it away and moving on, the liberals gather round the shit, poking it and prodding it, who left the shit, how long has it been there, what had they been eating.
