He’s strong, wins the ball in the air, has a decent touch, good pace, links play well…his finishing is a bit hit or miss but if he had that as well then he wouldn’t be playing for us.

There’s little way we replace him with better this window and there’s certainly nothing better on our bench. If keeping him for e.g. £8m means staying up then it’s a no-brainer.

He’s looked miserable as sin the last few months. He looked happier today. As Beechside said, he’s a different player when he wants to be out there. My hope is Moyes reinvigorates the team, gets him playing and we maybe - maybe - see him sign a new contract. Replacing him is going to be a lot harder than a lot of people think.
