There’s little way we replace him with better this window and there’s certainly nothing better on our bench. If keeping him for e.g. £8m means staying up then it’s a no-brainer.
He’s looked miserable as sin the last few months. He looked happier today. As Beechside said, he’s a different player when he wants to be out there. My hope is Moyes reinvigorates the team, gets him playing and we maybe - maybe - see him sign a new contract. Replacing him is going to be a lot harder than a lot of people think.
