A truly harrowing moment for any of us.
It's POSSIBLY Coleman if we are playing a back four with a right winger in front, but it's Patterson every day if we're playing wingbacks.

Paterson does. And crucially he can cross a ball.
Seamus is no doubt the better defender. But when you've got 3 CB's and likely two DM's covering, Paterson shouldn't be as exposed defensively.
Personally i fucking hate 3-5-2/5-3-2. We've always been the worst at it. Doesn't matter who the manager is or the players, we just see it as a back 5. And we're just shit at utilising it.

Given Moyes has played four at the back for decades, I'm sure it's just a 'horses for courses' moment.
A winger on the bench, especially a pacy one, all of a sudden gives us options, especially late on.
Also, Coleman, even at 78, is far more suited to wing-back than Patterson, as he can defend a bit too. Previous Message
since Baines and Coleman
But if we do, sounds like we're just about to waste £17 million on a winger. Previous Message
