But when Moyes was here the vast majority of players enjoyed playing for him. He had a reputation as a straight dealer and whilst players worked hard there was also a bit of fun. He created a sense of belonging and he inspired trust in his players. There was even the odd flicker of optimism amongst team, staff and fans albeit ultimately he fell short of what might have been possible if he had been a bit braver.
Belonging and trust is something that has been missing recently reading between the lines of some of the reports pre and post Dyche’s firing. If Moyes can restore unity annd instill a little confidence that alone might be enough to get a slightly more tuneful and harmonious melody out of our current experimentalist concrete music line up.
He is no kind of long term answer but in his best case scenario he might lay more stable foundations for one to follow. We certainly need to hope so. Previous Message
