(Almost) Home & away for a few glorious years where we went to games discussing how many we’d win by…..& I saw the Greatest Goalie in the World do his thing😳
I took it for granted…..but I wouldn’t now & I didn’t realise it until maybe 20yrs ago?
I’ve resigned myself to never seeing us winning anything again, & we’ve already identified a private pub if we ever EVER get close.
If Moyes wins program of the year that’ll do me for starters….. Previous Message
I was coming into my teens during the mid 80s glory years. I enjoyed it all but always felt slightly too young to really fully appreciate it. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the success and Kendall will forever be a hero. Likewise, Royle, for his sadly far too short a term at the helm.
However, all things considered, my very favourite era as an Evertonian is the Moyes years. The club / a manager has never resonated with me more than it did during that time. Gave us our pride back, worked minor miracles under the circumstances, and had me fully engaged in the journey.
If Moyes takes us into European contention again and establishes us there again year on year, then even if that proves to be his limit, it’s a great start to a new Everton era, and I would hope that we have people in charge now not afraid to move him on if needs be when the time is right.
Onwards and upwards.
