But FWIW shortly before I retired our CEO was fired. He had a fractious relationship with the Board and the executive teams, constantly demanding more money for himself and always blaming others for issues. He was marched out of our Massachusetts office by security in full view of everyone. The e-mail to staff read as follows:
“CEO XXXXX XXXXXXXXXX has been removed from his post with immediate effect.”
That was it.
The briefing call that day with investors by the Chairman lasted 60 seconds and this was the content.
“We relieved CEO XXXXX XXXXXXXXX of his position today by unanimous vote of The Board of Directors for non-performance of his duties in accordance with his contract. The search has already begun for a permanent replacement. In the meantime Chairman XXX XXXXXXXX will take on the duties of CEO with support from the Regional Presidents. For legal reasons we will make no further comment at this time but will contact you in the coming days to schedule a fuller update when appropriate.”
Partings are not always amicable. TFG has sent a message with this. Whether it is wise or not remains to be seen but make no mistake it is not careless and nor is it classless, though it might be callous. Previous Message
I know it's been touched on below but I genuinely thought we'd issue something more substantial today.
Fuck knows where we'd be without him. How hard was it to say thanks?
