Could be the man and women in the street now see past the illusion of choice (Tory /Labour / Dem / Rep) and are refusing to play the game to keep these middle class lawyers and grifters in a job.
similar to brexit it defies normal political logic because its a complete protest vote against the whole system that has been propped up post war and individuals are prepared to burn the lot to see actaul change as opposed to the 2 parties in both countries that share 95% of their ideology and maintain the status quo.
All of these leaders promise to take them back to the good old days. That's why Brexit won. That's what Trump made his supporters think he will do. Factory jobs back, all this stuff about genders and sexual orientation gone (if you are gay you should keep quiet about it), blacks should know their place. What if cops shoot the occasional n****r? He probably did something anyways. (And for some of you a clarification, that's not my opinion.)
Note how every right-wing party promises to bring back the good old times. It's never about a better future, unless future is like some mythical time in the past when things were better (1950s in the case of USA).
genuinely interested. When did the rot really set in?
