No idea what this proves... probably nothing.
There are good players in all leagues. Could the Portugese Premeira league be seen as a 'feeder league', most likely.
And Maupay was quite a good example, at least for us.
But that's why people do say the thing that annoys you. Primeira is not one of the top leagues, probably more at the level of Holland. Also similar because there are a few top teams that are usually much better than the rest.
You can only play against what is put in front of you, and if he is doing so well in the Portuguese league, then he is quite obviously player who can perform at a higher level.
