There is no defence or prosecution..the Coroner makes a decision on the Facts presented. It's not intimidating at all.
The witnesses are seated & usually just repeat what they have put in their statements & if the coroner wants clarification on anything he will ask.
My mum passed away last month and it's been taken up (at my request) by the coroner, who've already set up a pre-hearing for the middle of November. Due to the quick turnaround we don't have any legal representation yet and are flying completely blind. If anyone on here has been in a similarly unfortunate situation I'd be grateful of the benefit of your experience
