Just got this message from my 18-year old son (who happens to support Spurs). It's his first week at uni:-

"I have made friends with an Everton fan at university

I’ve never seen a human so beaten up by a football club"

I'm not sure how to respond. My heart goes out to any Everton supporter of that age who has known nothing but unrelenting misery.
