game either…always looking to improve, studying other managers techniques etc. He clearly believes in his methods and generally they have worked. You’re unlikely to get top half finishes but generally his teams will amass enough points to be safe. Not pretty but effective. But Everton is a mess. Not like the organised but limited club he had at Burnley. Expectations were different. I think it’s caught up with him and his limited back room team (in my view he should have brought in an attacking coach as a minimum). The changes in how the game is played do not sit well with his tactics and it’s a perfect storm really. We do have some talented players but we need to be more expansive, quicker on the break, have greater possession…but I don’t think he can bring that.

The new players look like they can add something but the tactics will not get the best out of this group of players. No easy answer to it as I don’t believe there is any plan beyond Dyche and I don’t know who could replace him on a short-term contract other than Moyes, who would be equally unsuitable.
