Biden as well: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2024/07/01/remarks-by-president-biden-on-the-supreme-courts-immunity-ruling/
ACLU obviously knows jack shit as well: https://www.aclu.org/press-releases/supreme-court-grants-trump-broad-immunity-for-official-acts-placing-presidents-above-the-law
Can't be bothered to find comments from constitutional experts now but they seem to agree with those viewpoints. As do the three dissenting voices in SCOTUS (but I guess they know nothing either).
But unless the President is a complete moron he doesn't have to shoot his wife. There are plenty of ways to deal with her in an "official position".
There are three key things that anyone with half a brain can figure out is dangerous:
1.President is immune when his acts are in official capacity.
2. He doesn't have to explain himself and no communications between him and his subordinates can be used.
3. President has the authority to pardon people from any federal crimes. So his subordinates could be promised immunity when they break the federal law as well.
For instance, Trump could be paid a few billion by Putin to stop US aid to Ukraine. That clearly falls into his official role since it's about foreign policy which is very much his job.
And countless Ukrainians have died because of Trump. More will die if he wins. He will force Ukraine into a deal by cutting support. This is almost certainly what he was talking with Orban about. And any paper Putin signs is just for Russia to rebuild its army. Putin will not keep any promises. So another war will be inevitable. And that time Russians won't make the same mistakes. There will be plenty more Buchas and Mariupolis.
So I personally don't give a shit if he's shot.
dead, absolutely disgusting and I am not a Trump supporter. The finding from SCOTUS was that if the crime was linked to part of the President's remit he would not be charged. If for instance he shot his wife in cold blood he would be tried like anyone else.
