Even the tight purse strings isn't the issue, it's the continued shitshow that is ownership. If and hopefully when 777 deal collapses, then what? Moshiri starts looking for another buyer? Even if there were people waiting in the wings, with all the paperwork involved it will probably take months.
What does Thelwell do in the meantime? How do him and Dyche plan for next season? Who authorises any signings? Who negotiates outgoings, which there certainly will be, even before July 1st?
Dyche has mentioned a number of times recently that the vision that he was sold when joining the club turned out to be something completely different.
He expected finances to be a little tight but has been taken aback the way things actually developed.
I am sure that he is probably reflecting on the job that he and his staff have done since he joined which, in my opinion, has been outstanding and wondering whether he wants to continue with it.
He could leave with his reputation intact and his head held high.
I was skeptical when he joined us having managed a team that was relegated but have been completely won over.
I think it would be disastrous if he left now but wouldn’t blame him if he did c
