Now we’re playing teams around us at home and winning.
Like you say, a different bounce of the ball and maybe we beat Fulham away and West Ham at home and draw against Forest and Brentford.
Consider yesterday. I think he’d have been delighted with a point but we were very well organised, managed to get the ball up their end of the pitch, and Gana is in to a lose ball in the box. Another day he balloons it, or it doesn’t quite break. Fine. Set up a team that’s hard to beat, keep the ball near their goal, and hope you get a bit of luck.
A recipe for lots of draws, plenty of bad runs, but should even put over a season.
Especially with BMD on the literal horizon - we’re the very definition of a sleeping giant.
His options outside of us? I still don’t think there’s a club above Pakace in this league who’d consider him. And plenty below that who’d thumb their nose. I’d honestly say only the bottom four would seriously look at him…and one of those have already sacked him.
This is as good as it gets for him and I’m sure he knows it. He’s not going anywhere unless we push him out (which ain’t happening).
He’s a weird one tho. Streaky. Has four or five consecutive games where you think he’s cracked it…and then months of absolute garbage. I’m far from sold but you’d be some kind of petty to deny what he’s done this season with not just one but both hands tied behind his back.
I agree that he's probably been hoodwinked in terms of the reality of how bad the shitshow is behind the scenes (which seems to be par for the course with every manager before him since Ancelotti).
But where would he go? There's not many open roles and I think a lot of clubs would remain a bit snobby about appointing him (just look at the way West Ham are treating Moyes even though he's their most successful manager in about 40odd years)
Might as well hang around until the ownership saga is sorted and get the inevitable pay off as soon as we have a bad run
Dyche has mentioned a number of times recently that the vision that he was sold when joining the club turned out to be something completely different.
He expected finances to be a little tight but has been taken aback the way things actually developed.
I am sure that he is probably reflecting on the job that he and his staff have done since he joined which, in my opinion, has been outstanding and wondering whether he wants to continue with it.
He could leave with his reputation intact and his head held high.
I was skeptical when he joined us having managed a team that was relegated but have been completely won over.
I think it would be disastrous if he left now but wouldn’t blame him if he did c
