The third one they all agree was a penalty.
None of them are “100% nailed on pens”.
If they were, I’m sure they’d be given.
I suspect a panel of neutrals would disagree on which was a worse decision. But either way Forest seem to be claiming that each separate incident should increase the chance of any one of them being given. Do they really want the ref to award a soft pen if they’ve had a few potential unlucky calls?
Yes refs try to even things out during a match, but generally speaking we don’t want to encourage that. Do we??
The referee should make a decision. If it’s close, it doesn’t matter. This isn’t like yellow cards where you accumulate incidents.
Their argument is that 3 lots of 90% pens should result in at least one of them given. Mine is unless you’re sure it’s a pen don’t give it, and it doesn’t matter how close it is. Might mean some times you’re really unlucky, but would be wrong to “balance that out” against another team who are finally getting a bit of their bad luck balanced out!
