It's close to "Pisserenden" (the streets around Skt. Pederstræde) with all the second hand stores, shops and cafes for youngsters. There a very good french bistro there called Le National.
Tivoli, which you probably should check out for a cosy stroll, is close too. But they want your money in there. It's like a fairy tale land/entertainment park.
I'd most of all recommend you to visit Vesterbro, it's where I live. You'll find lots of places to eat in and around Kødbyen and by Enghave Plads where they have a great record store called Beat. Also at Vesterbro you can visit Mikkeller in Victoriagade for a taste of special beers. Icecream, everybody talks about SI, short for sicilian icecream. That's in Skydebanegade.
I would also vist Nyhavn and take the walk out to the little mermaid. Not for the mermaid, it's nothing, but the city looks good from there and you'll get a good sense of the beautiful old city.
I watch football at the pub Kennedys near the city lakes. It's a small irish inspired place at Gl. Kongevej.

Happy to help out. Where are you staying?
Wife is treating me to a weekend away for my Birthday
Any recommendations?
I wish everyone a few calm days before sunday.
I'm gonna pick up my youngest son early and buy him an icecream.
