Did his best with limited resources (by his standards) and then headed off once it became clear that the club was a basket case and right up shit street financially. I, for one, don’t blame him one little bit. Why would an elite manager (who was very respectful about Everton during his time here) choose to stick around and grind it out with us when the world was still his oyster?
