1. Our presence is a nuisance to the branding of the Sky 6
Our history, 9 league titles, number of games in the top flight, founding member and constant memeber of the Premier League since its inception, etc etc: these can all be perceived as diminishing the brand of the Sky 6, ie we're another big club with heritage and status, if we were not around it would be Sky 6 and 'the rest'.
2. We had the audacity to challenge them
The Moshiri era has been an unmitigated disaster sporting and business-wise, but we still had the audacity to try and position ourselves as more than mid-table by spending inflated fees and wages on players and managers. Sanctioning us, they're letting everyone else know: don't you dare try, you're not here to compete, you're here to make up the numbers and you should be jolly grateful for that.
I think the Premier League may not be as secure as they believe.
We should lead the 14 other clubs back to the Football League and leave the Sky 6 to join the European Super League. Premier Legaue RIP. Adios.

The Premier League wanted to deduct us 17 points this season. That is in effect trying to relegate us
When you consider this with the 777 non decision it seems the agenda is more than PSR
Are they trying to wash their hands of Everton?
Is there something so bad in the background they want nothing to do with it?
