I always thought we played home first (Nov/Dec), away second (Feb/March) to ensure that both teams had a Derby home game in a calendar year.
when you program in all the restrictions, like us not being able to play at home the same day as the RS, I think City and Utd and Spurs and Arsenal are the same, there will be others at times, then playing everyone twice if possible well spaced. With those conditions there probably arent that many ways of doing it. Possibly why we play Liverpool usually home first and at similar times in the season. That could all be bollocks though.
Interesting to get the answer
It’s far too often to be coincidence.
Mainly because if it goes to the wire we need to be safe before that last game at Arsenal.
Effectively we’ve played that one already (in my head) & I’ve written it off
We don’t want to even consider the potential nightmare scenario that day do we…..
