always leads to this. See ...dog's...perfectly innocent post about a funny protest sign. Within a couple of minutes it developed into something about trangenderphobia, ruined lives and God knows what else. For me, the less the government is involved in our lives the better it is for me. That's my belief and you're not going to change it, and anyone's life that's going to be ruined by football deserves it to be ruined. Working class people aren't the only one's who like football you know. You keep referring to working people, billinaire Tories and then patting the Tories on the back for inteferring in too much of our lives.
It's not a specifically tory policy, in fact they were the last to sign on. I referenced Sullivan being one because his politics traditionally reject any form of regulation.
I take your point about priorities for a laid off factory with three kids, but protecting the national sport and the clubs that play it which are of so much importance, particularly working people, and treating them like community assets that need to be safeguarded doesn't seem to be the worst idea in the world. It doesn't have to be either or.
I extracted one idea from it that I liked. Don't you think there's some poor laid off factory worker with three kids and a wife to support, is a Labour supporter who also thinks that's a valid point?
I'd imagine its been quite some time since David Sullivan has had to worry about how much his energy, water or train fare costs so unsurprising he doesn't see the benefit of having regulators for those industry's as well. The many issues associated with those stem from privatization and toothless regulatory powers, but it's surely better to have some sort of oversight body there instead of nothing at all? Same argument for the football industry.
Inquisition. In a few years the same people might be complaining that the government should never have been allowed anywhere near football. Yes, the PL are doing a terrible job, that doesn't mean the government would do any better and the point that there'll soon be hundreds omore overpaid, do fuck all civil servants involved, is a fair point. I don't follow the filth that's on the internet so can't criticise every word that comes out of his mouth. The fucking government is torn apart for everything they do on this forum so why do you think they'd do better in this case?
"The government has shown an inability to run anything. You would think they would have more important things to worry about at the moment.
"We already have a regulator for energy, water, trains etc and we have the worst and most expensive services in the world!
"We are now going to be forced to pay for something we don't want. I wonder how many overpaid employees this new football quango will employ?
