His body language and lack of decisions in the 2-0/2-1 (can’t remember) defeat at home to Norwich was clearly stating that he himself had lost all confidence.
Myself, looking at him in those final days think the sacking saved him and allowed him to refresh and come back and do a pretty good job at Fulham. Had we persisted I’m unsure where he would be now as the job seemed to be consuming him. Not helped by Moshiri’s relentless pursuit of him prior to his appointment and the pressure that must have brought.
I liked him and still do and wish him well except when he’s managing against us.

I don’t care if his coaches used to smoke behind the skips or he never spoke to youth players. I’d have him back in a heartbeat.
His next job is a top six club or a European powerhouse.
