He's got a cross on him though. The ball into Danjuma (Forest away) was glorious. But overall he hasn't impressed. Mykolenko is a far more reliable defender than Patterson. He had a shaky first season but has proven himself.
If he (Patterson) is not fancied then he'll be moved on. Because if we stay up there's no way Dyche is going anywhere.
Patterson hasn’t looked hopeless any more so than Mykolenko at the time. We stuck with the latter and he developed into a much better player.
Seemed that Patterson only had to cough to be dropped. There is a very decent player in there if given a chance. My simple summation is that he gives massively more than Godfrey, makes no more mistakes than Young.
I’d play him every game now.
Never a starter - apart from a brief period under Lampard when Coleman was out injured - two spells of injury, and never looks to have been rated by Dyche, who will play just about anyone at RB before he'll turn to him.
I've always thought he's ok going forward but utterly hopeless as a defender.
We might look to replace him next summer if we stay up. I think that'd be best for us and him.
