but many thought Luton would be this season.
I just don't think it's as dark as it appears. We should be 14th (I think) if we had all our points, and have had our best run in years this season (and, admittedly, our worst!).
If our players put their contacts in we will look a lot better in quick time.
Leicester, Leeds and Southampton would be weaker than Sheff U, Burnley and Luton ??
Admire your optimism but the crop coming up are better.
Leeds have a decent attacking side and will add. Leicester lost Barnes and Maddison but have a good manager and still a decent squad (expect Dewsbury-Hall to move on) , they just had a stinker under Rodgers. Southampton I will give you.
My point was it will be harder and it will be next season.
Its all very touchy on here at the moment, bit like my point on McNeil earlier, it wasn't criticism just an observation that a pacey winger would have been a better option!
Leeds have done well to be in the mix, they'll have a dozrn loanees coming back who don't want to be there, disrupting the squad.
Leicester sold their spine from last year, which wasn't good enough to finish aboce us then, let alone now.
And Southampton are small.
Should give us 40m for another throw of the dice
Fear the constant downgrade of players will cost us at some point
Add to that Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich/Southampton coming up its going to get harder
Then we are hoping the sale of Eze/Olise will weaken Palace and likewise Toney at Brentford. Forest and Bournemouth will be in the mix again.
But its all pretty depressing add to that the 777 factor and season ticket hikes
That and the scab six cartel plus VAR the future is bright
Where would you like us to be ?
I am fed up with the saga of constant relegation battles and poor management throughout the club. I certainly do not trust 777 to sort us out and have a deep mistrust of their interest in us (I think they see that Stadium as collateral against their investment).
So a year from now, following the collapse of the 777 deal and our relegation after entering administration:
I would like to see us top of the Championship and flying it by some distance as our billionaire new owners (with a track record of developing other sports organisations/clubs) plan and build for our return to the EPL.
In the past I have always seen relegatiion as a death knell, but not anymore.... better to start again properly as opposed to struggle along with 777 and end up in more debt.
Its not the hope that kills me anymore, its the LACK of it.
