Whereas before this period the bottom club usually got 30 points, and a few would be in the mix in the final weeks.
I do agree that we have benefitted massively from it, but I don’t see the next three promoted clubs lifting the standards significantly. Norwich and Fulham usually looked good coming up and then were always sent straight back down again.
Leicester, Leeds and maybe Southampton will be probably be back up again and they'll be much better shape then we are. We are lucky this season in that the relegation battle isnt as competitive as normal and two places have already been settled barely into March. It won be like that next season and that might finally be our undoing.
And another joins them after 30.
Hardly deserving of the most competitive league in the world badge anymore.
Also, although I’m no fan of them it’s just been the most woeful and unenjoyable season for their fans. Selling their two best players (N’Diaye and Berge) before the start of the season and it’s been a pretty forlorn time since.
