Gomes out, Dele out. Two players hardly / not contributing at all, on stellar wages. Replace them two with two, even for the bench, on half the salary, and we've more options suddenly.
Potentially Young / Coleman out too. I'm not saying I'd be happy to muddle along with Godfrey & Patterson, but surely if either of them, AND Young, AND Coleman left, there's space on the wages to replace.
Assuming we don't sign Danjuma (manager doesn't like him) and Harrison (probably can't afford him), we'll probably get more loans, who optimistically might be quicker
Then if/when Onana goes, we hopefully sign the next Onana and the cycle continues.
Hes not a managerial great and will make mistakes but in the circumstances he's doing fine.
We have a top half defence and a bottom 5 attack.
Attackers cost money and we've sold most of them and not really replaced.
We're paying 30 million for beto as we're probably giving Udinese 3 mil for 10 years. If we had 15 million upfront I bet we could of got Gykores, who will actually cost less than Beto at 25 mil.
I think we'll scrape by this season but the next season will be the most challenging. If we have the same financial restraints and have to start selling defenders then we're gonna struggle at both ends of the pitch.
That's not Dyches fault. He's managing a really difficult situation the best he can.
I'm as frustrated as anyone, but, whilst he's clearly safety-first, this isn't on him.
He won 1 in 3 at Burnley. Burnley. 1 in 3 would be better than our results for the last few bloody years. He's set us up the best in years, we concede few chances and create decent ones, it's just our asset-stripped first team can't finish.
He's 100% the right man for now. If we can realise cash in the summer (and the payroll will be substantially improved) I think he could make us competitive enough to bloody some noses.
At the moment our fanbase remind me of West Ham. They've a manager who has won their first trophy in forty years and they're sulking they've not got Ian Bishop arsing about in possession til they lose it.
Well deserved.
