(But obviously, truly grim times)
He's missed a few chances but not loads.
He needs better service, but in part that means the whole team must play better.
Myko has been getting forward a bit more at home, but the right hand side isn't great. And centrally no one is threading balls in to feet. Or at least not often.
If we survive this season, and it is an if. Since Dom up.
The worry is
-10 pts already
Maybe another punishment
Maybe administration
But, he's on big money, he's only a year left, some of the fanbase have given up on him...
On the flipside, I'm sure Dyche knows it'd cost a hell of a lot more to replace him, so will keep muddling along. I'm sure / hope it turns for him soon, as I love him.
I actually don’t think he’s doing much wrong. He’s missed a couple of chances but all strikers do - they’re just more memorable because we create fuck all for him, so it feels like all he ever does is miss.
I think it was Paul (maybe Neil) who posted the other day that Calvert-Lewin has three goals from something like 3.2 xG. The ‘easy’ headers he missed against Palace had low xG, for example; every miss is getting magnified.
He’s working hard, winning the ball, holding it up well, stretching the defence…he’s just not scoring. But I don’t think many would in his position - we just don’t create many real chances for the lone forward.
And put it this way; he’s a fucking lot better than Beto.
As the goals against column is very strong.
And there's far greater areas of concern that need fixing in summer.
What do you do with a problem like Dominic?
I cant imagine us having him forever, but if we can keep
Pickford, Tarkowski and Branthwaite - then thats a very solid base.
Myko is fine too, rb, I aint sure on tbh
I suspect we'll have to sell someone though, and if clubs know that, then we wont get mega money for anyone.
