...not helped by the manager making defensive selections and having the team play passively against a side that couldn't have been more for the taking.
No PL win in eight now - and while the previous seven had some tough fixtures, and so leeway can be given for not picking up many points, the flip of that is that we need to be winning the games that (on paper) aren't as tough.
We barely even had a go at winning that game, last night, which is what I think is frustrating to people - not least when we're starting with (at least) a ten point handicap, this season. I get setting up not to lose against City, Spurs etc...I don't get it at home to a Palace side on a terrible run, without their best players, and on the day their manager resigned. At some point we have to actually try and win games playing positively, as well.
I'm nowhere near as invested as I was a few years ago but I can see why people are frustrated this morning. Yes, we'd be 12th if it wasn't for the points deduction, but that's based on form earlier in the season. Right now, we're as bad as anyone, which is pretty concerning given we may be facing even more points coming off of our board (ironically, I actually think a second charge could do us a favour, as it will drag Forest down and create more of a three-way playoff with Luton).
So you say there's a race of men in the trees
You're for tough legislation
Thanks for calling
I wait all night for calls like these
