Last night was largely awful overall (from both!) - and there's a real lack of confidence in the team, although that seems to largely be a lack of confidence about scoring goals - defensively I think we're fairly confident about not conceding.
I will say one thing though - having watched the highlights of last night, I think the pivotal moment in last night's match was DCL's first header, which was a really positive and flowing move and if (yes I know - its and buts and maybes) - if that move had resulted in a goal - or had even brought a decent save from the keeper, then I think we would have gone on to win that comfortably last night.
It's absolutely not a criticism of DCL (finishing aside he played better than recently last night - particularly as you say in the aerial duels) but moments like that seem to absolutely deflate us - both the team and the crowd. They seem to make us think we're never going to score and that infects everything we do - that confidence drops a notch, which brings in a nervousness that might means someone snatches at a shot, or misplaces a pass - and the negative reaction from the crowd is only to be expected and down the spiral we go.
There's a real fragility to the whole club, and I think that absolutely comes from the situation we're in - limbo regarding the 10 points, the ownership of the club and our future - it's a really debilitating position to be in (especially on the back of 2 relegation fights) and it's having a hugely negative effect.
Hopefully the appeal result comes soon, and the 777 outcome not long afterwards so we can start to move on from this state of limbo (and onto the 2nd PSR charge!!)
It's exhausting.
