Not revolutionary but there were some on here calling for Simms to be recalled and
questioning the Cannon loan.
Neither were good enough for the first team last year but their loans got them regular first team football and added to their value.
I’m a bit sad that Cannon was sold and not loaned because I think there’s a finisher in there but before his loan we’d have been lucky to get £1m.
I totally agree with loaning players out but its hardly revolutionary
Or James Vaughan… is he still with us?
We certainly need to have a comprehensive loan system / plan / pathway to the 1st team when trying to sign young players. This in addition to a much larger/ better scouting system.
Hopefully this improves and evolves over time
And you’d hope we would convince him to stay & sign a long term contract.
Sadly football is no longer like that now.
I expect a regular champions League club (here or abroad) to buy him nxt year.
And good luck to him too
That’s how we are / will be operating for the foreseeable until we become loaded again & start playing European football on a regular basis.
I suppose the silver lining in the dark cloud is that it shows we can spot + attract talent, improve them and they go onto clubs in the champs league (I know I know …… …. It’s sh1t… but that’s reality / the legacy we have currently)….
only €1m. Perhaps even a better bargain than Stones and Coleman. Time will tell.
