He’s managed a huge turnaround in players.
And got us money for those who are valued in todays market.
The Alex Iwobi deal is just crazy.
£22 million for someone with <12 months in their contract.
Plus Beto !!! We start paying next year ?????
And amongst the sh1t show going on at board level.
He may not be perfect and have faults (Bonjour Mr Maupay) but I’d keep him.

He is still there; not seen any changes with him since the summer when he was last mentioned.
I think Thelwell brought him in after Branthwaite had already went out on loan. I read that our new loans pathway was developed by Thelwell, and I think it’s worked well so far.
Thelwell gets a lot of shit, but for a bloke working for this basketcase of a club, I think he’s performing as well as he could. Previous Message
Or James Vaughan… is he still with us?
We certainly need to have a comprehensive loan system / plan / pathway to the 1st team when trying to sign young players. This in addition to a much larger/ better scouting system.
Hopefully this improves and evolves over time

And you’d hope we would convince him to stay & sign a long term contract.
Sadly football is no longer like that now.
I expect a regular champions League club (here or abroad) to buy him nxt year.
And good luck to him too
That’s how we are / will be operating for the foreseeable until we become loaded again & start playing European football on a regular basis.
I suppose the silver lining in the dark cloud is that it shows we can spot + attract talent, improve them and they go onto clubs in the champs league (I know I know …… …. It’s sh1t… but that’s reality / the legacy we have currently)….

only €1m. Perhaps even a better bargain than Stones and Coleman. Time will tell.
