As a ST holder I think the fans have been more than patient through a miserable period in our history. Saying we only get behind the team when things are going well simply doesn't chime with how the crowd dragged the misfiring team over the finishing line in these recent wretched seasons.
We're still one of the most successful clubs in the country, so it's not entitlement to want better than we're getting now. Our history is nothing like Nottingham Forest, who had one brief but bright spell.
Of all the things wrong at Everton in the last few decades, I would put the fans a long way down the list.

But we haven’t been relegated like many other teams of our size have been. Maybe that’s the issue - at least promotion is something to cheer about.
Everton fans are deluded in thinking that we are a Big Club. We may have a great history, but so do Forest. We’re not big any more. Hopefully we will be again.
We only get behind the team when things are gong well. As soon as there is any set back, the negativity is palpable. It definitely affects the team and makes things worse.
It’s been evident since Martinez. The treatment of John Stones was awful - as is the treatment of Calvert-Lewin. The fans turn up - but sometimes I wish we had a smaller, but more supportive crowd.
Personally I’ve never booed any player or the team. I’ll complain on here and to anyone that might listen to me, but that’s about it.
If they don’t like it, don’t go. Previous Message
even without hindsight it was 100% the correct decision
I get fans want us to go 442 but we were dominating yesterday so there was absolutely no need to change the shape
Beto was tiring and now we have some quality on the bench, if you can replace like with like, its what you do
If you're losing 1 nil then you try something different but we were so on top yesterday we just needed to freshen up the personel not the shape
