If I own something
Example a laptop - and I send it to a company to get the keyboard fixed
It comes back - and though the keyboard is fixed, another part of the laptop is damaged
After weeks of emails back and forth, its evident the damage occurred when the laptop was with them, not beforehand or after it was returned
Is there a time frame for me making a claim against them for compensation ?
Like if they say - our terms and conditions state all claims for damage must be made within 7 days - that has to be nonsense right ?
Especially if when initially raised, there was dispute over when the damage occurred
I realise this is kind of vague, but after months of refusing accept responsibility, now when faced with evidence they caused the damage - they cant just say, nah, too late, can they - must be some consumer protection in this ?
Is it a case of speak to Citizens Advice ?
